Privacy Policy – Orvelo

Last updated: 8 August 2026

This privacy policy explains which data is processed, and for what purpose, when you use the mobile application "Orvelo" (the "app") and when you visit this information page. This is a translation of the German privacy policy provided for convenience; in case of discrepancies, the German version prevails.

1. Controller and contact

The controller responsible for data processing in connection with the app and this website is:

Jan Solga ("Web-Ascend"), operator of Orvelo
Kettelerstraße 42
48147 Münster
Germany

Contact for privacy matters: support@web-ascend.com

2. Provision of this page (hosting)

This privacy policy is served as a static web page via the GitHub Pages service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the page, GitHub processes technically required connection data – in particular your device's IP address – in server logs in order to deliver the page and to ensure the security and stability of the service. The page itself sets no cookies and embeds no analytics services.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing this information reliably and securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Processing may take place in the USA; GitHub, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the EU Commission under Art. 45 GDPR is in place. For more information, see the GitHub Privacy Statement.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app integrates the Google AdMob advertising SDK to serve advertising – in particular rewarded video ads – and to measure its delivery. In doing so, Google may process the following data:

The purpose of this processing is the delivery, fraud prevention and performance measurement of advertising and – where you have given consent – the personalisation of the ads shown.

To access the advertising ID, the app uses the Android permission "com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID". You can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy or Google → Ads); once deleted, it is no longer available to the app or to Google for ad delivery. The legal basis for this advertising-related processing is your consent (see section 7).

The app does not use any analytics or tracking services beyond the ad delivery described above; crash and error diagnostics (Sentry) are described in section 4.

4. Crash and error diagnostics (Sentry)

To detect and fix software errors, the app integrates the diagnostics SDK Sentry of Functional Software, Inc. (dba Sentry), 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. If the app crashes or an unhandled error occurs, an error report is transmitted to Sentry. The following data may be processed:

The sole purpose of this processing is the stability and debugging of the app. No advertising or usage profiles are created. Additional personal data is disabled (the "sendDefaultPii" option is turned off); in particular, the IP address is not stored for this purpose. No usage or performance tracing takes place. Error reports are stored in Sentry’s EU data region, i.e. in a data centre within the European Union.

5. In-app purchases

Paid content can be purchased in the app. Payment is handled exclusively by the respective platform operator – Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). Payment data such as card or bank account details are neither collected by the app nor transmitted to it.

The app only receives from the platform operator the information whether a purchase was completed successfully, and stores the resulting unlock status locally on the device.

6. Optional game-progress sync and leaderboards

If you voluntarily sign in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), your game progress can be synced with the respective platform service. The data transferred is the player identifier assigned by the platform and your game progress, specifically: the highest score achieved, the designs purchased and the design currently selected.

While you are signed in, your highest score is additionally submitted to the leaderboard of the respective platform service. There it may be visible to other players together with the player name stored in your Google Play Games or Game Center profile. You control the visibility of your player profile in the settings of the respective platform service.

This sync is optional. It does not take place unless you sign in to the respective platform service; in that case your game progress remains exclusively on the device.

You can delete game progress that has already been synced by deleting the data stored for Play Games – or your Play Games profile – in your Google account's data management, or, on iOS, by managing your Game Center data in your Apple ID settings. Alternatively, a message to support@web-ascend.com is sufficient; we will then assist you with the deletion.

7. Legal bases (EU/EEA)

For users in the European Economic Area, the following applies:

8. Recipients and third-party providers

Depending on the feature, recipients of the data described above are Google (AdMob, Google Play Billing, Google Play Games) and, on iOS devices, Apple (App Store, Game Center). These providers process the data as independent controllers in accordance with their own privacy policies. Transfers to third countries outside the EEA – in particular to the USA – may occur. Google LLC and Apple Inc. are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the EU Commission under Art. 45 GDPR is in place.

Further information can be found in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and Apple's at apple.com/legal/privacy.

The recipient of the crash and error diagnostics data is Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), USA. Sentry processes this data as a processor on our behalf. The reports are stored in Sentry’s EU data region in a data centre within the European Union; access from the USA by the parent company may occur in individual cases and is safeguarded by appropriate guarantees within the meaning of Art. 44 et seq. GDPR – in particular the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses. For more information, see Sentry's privacy policy at sentry.io/privacy.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. In the Google Play Store, the app's target audience is declared accordingly as 13 and older.

Personalised advertising is only served on the basis of prior consent (see sections 3 and 7).

We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13.

Parents and guardians who have reason to believe that their child has provided personal data can contact support@web-ascend.com at any time. The data concerned will then be deleted.

10. Your rights

Within the scope of the applicable law, you have the right to:

To exercise these rights, a message to support@web-ascend.com is sufficient. Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Please note that data processed by Google or Apple as independent controllers must be asserted directly with those providers.

11. Storage period

Data stored locally on the device – such as game progress, settings and purchase status – remains there until the app is uninstalled or you delete the app data. Game progress synced via platform services remains until you withdraw it or it is deleted. Error reports from crash and error diagnostics (section 4) are stored by Sentry for 90 days and then deleted automatically. For advertising data and the hosting server logs, the retention periods of the respective provider apply.

12. Data security

The app communicates with the services mentioned above via transport-encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No own server infrastructure is operated on which users' personal data is stored; this information page is served via GitHub Pages (see section 2).

13. Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy will be updated if the app or the underlying legal situation changes. The version published here applies in each case. The current revision date is stated at the top of this page (8 August 2026).
